“So My heavenly Father also will do to you if each of you, from his heart, does not forgive hisbrother his trespasses.”                                              JESUS
“To be a Christian means to forgivethe inexcusable, because God has forgiven the inexcusable in you. This ishard…how can we do it? Only I think, by remembering where we stand, by meaningour words when we say in our prayers each night, ‘Forgive us our trespasses aswe forgive those who trespass against us.’ We are offered forgiveness on noother terms. To refuse it means to refuse God’s mercy for ourselves.” ~C.S. Lewis~
What does it mean to forgive? Defined: charizomi (charis means grace) to givegraciously, give generously, cancel a debt, pardon, to hand over into.
Forgiveness is a command that has a promise of blessingattached to it based on our obedience to the command. CONDITIONAL PROMISE! Somethings will not happen until we forgive completely. Forgiveness does not mean Iforget/have forgotten. It means I remember but I choose to release myself andthe culprit from the captivity of my pain/anger/need to be right.
Forgiveness requires an intentional, conscientious, repeated effort of choosing what is right , according to the word written andTHE WORD over what I feel or what I remember.
It is ALWAYS God’s will that weforgive. A house divided cannot stand.

Forgiveness is a move of God extended to me and throughme to reveal the nature of God to humanity.
Forgiveness is one of the most powerful expressions ofChrist’s character that we are able to demonstrate. Forgiveness is an evidenceof love, an extension of merciful grace. It changes my “inner atmosphere”although it may not change the outward circumstance or consequence.
Micah 7:18-19  Who is a God like You, pardoning iniquity and passing overthe transgression of the remnant of His heritage? He does not retain His angerforever because He delights in mercy. He will again have compassion on us andwill subdue our iniquities
