1 Corinthians 1:26-31
For you see your calling, brethern, that not many mighty, not many noble are called. But God has chosen the foolish things of the world to put to shame the wise, and God has chosen the weak things of the world to put to shame the things which are mighty. And the base things of the world and the things which are despised God has chosen, and the things which are not, to bring to nothing the things that are. That no flesh should glory in His presence. But of Him you are in Christ Jesus, who became for us wisdom from God-- and righteousness and sanctification and redemption-- that, as it is written, "He who glories, let him glory in the Lord."
I am so overjoyed to be a part of the Body of Christ because it makes absolutely no sense at all that I am. It makes no sense that the Father would still love His creation so much after His creation betrayed, disobeyed, rejected and ignored Him and more than not, still does. It makes no sense that after all that we had done and were going to do that He would love us enough to send His only begotten Son to live and die, smitten by Him and afflicted on our behalf, so that we might live eternally with Him. Whether we believe it or not. It is utterly absurd that He would allow us to participate in His divine plan to share His glorious gospel. That He would leave with us the awesome responsibility to share that love, that story, that inexplicable peace and freedom from everywhere to everywhere, even to the ends of the earth. The craziest thing of all is that He didn't choose the lofty, those prioritized by society that prides itself on on living by it's own sinful principles and practices according to it's own will. He did not choose those who were able to choose themselves, no matter how much we think so. The truth is none at all were or are capable or choosing themselves. He chose the foolishness of the world to confound and confuse the wise. Why? Why would He do such a thing?
Why, again? Because God alone gets the glory! God alone deserves the glory anyway but because humanity has the tendency to be/become pride-filled and arrogant at the slightest glimpse of achievement, God has chosen to flip the script. When He chooses you and I to impact the lives of others in positive ways He gets the glory. When we live for Him and allow Him to work through us in the way that He knows is best and most effective in lieu of the gifts and callings the He has given, He gets the glory. Sometimes He does it through our jobs and professions as well, as at times those are the chosen vehicles to transport the message. The point is that He uses the most foolish acting things in all of His creation to further the gospel. The one whom He has given the ability to consciously choose to obey, love, surrender or to vehemently oppose Him. He uses them, us, you and me, flaws, failures, foolishness and all.
Prayer: Thank You Lord!!!
